1. The timber association established strategic networking with international delegations during the export meeting

The Guild Association of Small and Medium Timber Industries (PYMEMAD) had a prominent presence at ENEXPRO 2025, an event that brought together 26 international importers with Chilean companies in Concepción.

This instance was key for the regional forestry sector. Michel Esquerré, president of PymeMad Nacional, held a meeting with Mexican businesspeople, who expressed their interest in establishing long-term commercial ties with Chile, valuing the maturity of the market and the quality of the national timber work.

"The Mexican delegation showed particular interest in three business areas: pallets, furniture, and construction. They highly value our mature market and the seriousness with which we work," highlighted Esquerré.

The business rounds saw broad participation from member companies. Víctor Sandoval, president of the Biobío-Ñuble guild, emphasized: "It was a very productive day where, in addition to formal meetings, valuable opportunities for conversation were generated, allowing the sharing of experiences and common concerns of the sector."

The activities culminated with technical visits to production plants, including Guivar Transforma, located in the Itata Valley between the municipalities of Trehuaco and Coelemu. Lorena Vargas, regional vice president and general manager of the company, received 15 importers who learned about the renewable business model and production processes from the origin.

"This ProChile activity is enriching for our sector. It allows us to access end customers directly without intermediaries and without the initial need to invest in business trips," stated Vargas, who sees these instances as a gateway to new markets traditionally reached only through traders.

This presence inENEXPRO BIOBÍO2025 reaffirms PYMEMAD's commitment to the internationalization of Chilean forestry SMEs and their positioning in strategic markets.
