- The Biobío and Araucanía regions of the association will actively participate in the strategic direction of the program, which aims to enhance technological integration in the manufacturing sector of southern Chile.
Regional organizations of PymeMad were invited to be part of the governance of CORFO's Sustainable Development Network (RFS) Program in Manufacturing, an initiative covering the Biobío, La Araucanía, Los Ríos, and Los Lagos regions. The regional presidents confirmed their participation in this key space for the technological development of the manufacturing sector.
The program, led by the University of Concepción through the Center for Industry 4.0 (C4i), seeks to boost the adoption of productive technology in the manufacturing of the four mentioned regions. The invitation was extended by Benjamín Germany, manager of C4i, who highlighted the importance of having sectoral and territorial representation of the wood-forestry industry.
Víctor Sandoval, president of PymeMad Biobío, expressed his gratitude for the invitation and stated that "the wood-forestry sector is extremely important in the regions where the program operates, and I believe we can contribute with the perspective of the SMEs that our trade association represents."
Meanwhile, Rocío Lagos, president of PYMEMAD Araucanía, stated that "we appreciate the invitation to be part of the governance of CORFO's Sustainable Development Network Program in Manufacturing. We believe this space will be a great opportunity to collaborate, share the vision and needs of our SMEs, as well as to join efforts to boost manufacturing in our regions."
PymeMad's participation in the governance will allow contributing the vision and specific needs of the wood production sector, proposing and prioritizing technological packages relevant to their reality, validating the technical solutions proposed by the program team, and generating dissemination instances with their associates.
This strategic alliance between the trade world, SMEs, and academia consolidates a collaborative work model aimed at generating a concrete impact on the technological development and competitiveness of the wood manufacturing sector in southern Chile.
