- Víctor Sandoval, president of PymeMad Biobío, actively participated in the Timber Meeting held at Quincho Kupal in Los Ángeles, an event that brought together representatives from timber SMEs and the construction industry.
The meeting, organized by the Regional Strategic Program Biobío Madera with support from Corfo, gathered over two dozen key stakeholders from the timber construction ecosystem in the Biobío province.
Strategic Alliances for Development
During the event, Sandoval, alongside the strategic program manager Frane Zilic and the president of the Chilean Chamber of Construction Los Ángeles, Mario Zerega, led activities aimed at strengthening inter-sectoral ties.
"During the working meeting at the facilities of the Chilean Chamber of Construction in Los Ángeles, program representatives engaged with local media outlets," highlighted the president of PymeMad Biobío.
Concrete Opportunities for SMEs
The meeting enabled timber SMEs, builders, representatives from local universities, and entities such as Corfo, Infor, Minvu, and Serviu to share experiences and analyze the opportunities offered by timber construction in the region.
Sandoval emphasized that these spaces are crucial to "build trust among timber SMEs, builders, and other institutions linked to the sector’s development," noting that the province has all the conditions to lead the transformation toward sustainable construction.
Next Steps
The event, which included group dynamics and teamwork workshops, marks the beginning of a series of initiatives in which PymeMad Biobío will actively participate to further integrate SMEs into the timber construction market.
"The challenges of timber construction in the region are being addressed collaboratively, as a starting point to strengthen this important sector," concluded Sandoval.
