Los Ángeles, July 2, 2025.-PymeMad Nacional A.G. held a meeting with the top leadership of CMPC at the company's corporate facilities in the city of Los Ángeles, led by Bernardo Larraín Matte, chairman of the forestry company's board, marking a turning point in relations between small and medium-sized enterprises in the sector and one of Chile's leading forestry companies.
The meeting was attended by the chairman of CMPC's board, along with senior executives of the company: Francisco Ruiz Tagle, general manager; Guillermo Turner, Rafael Correa, and Ignacio Lira Molina. The PymeMad representation consisted of Michel Esquerre, national president; regional presidents Sebastián Erenchun, Víctor Sandoval, and Rocío Lagos; as well as directors Lorena Vargas and Hernán Muñoz.
Michel Esquerré described the meeting as "an excellent outreach by the board chairman to engage with the world of SMEs and the necessary dialogue for a sustainable future in the forestry sector." He also highlighted that the main agreement reached was "to continue working and deepening this relationship so that in the future we have a more sustainable forestry sector, with a long-term vision for the productive chain and the value of SMEs."
For her part, Lorena Vargas particularly valued the direct nature of the meeting held in Los Ángeles: "I found this meeting extremely valuable. Connecting the faces and realities of SMEs with the people who make strategic decisions in the large companies we coexist with is highly relevant."
The SME representative emphasized that the meeting demonstrates that small businesses "are part of the sector's sustainability, part of this ecosystem," and that this type of alliance "opens the opportunity to develop new businesses and products that ultimately benefit both the company and the sector."
Vargas also highlighted the commitment shown by CMPC: "I truly believe that the fact that the board chairman is interested in sitting down with us and getting to know us is a sign that he genuinely wants to move forward toward a better sector hand in hand with SMEs. I think they have shown through actions and deeds that they really want to support the development of SMEs."
This meeting represents a significant step forward in building a more inclusive forestry sector, where SMEs are recognized as key strategic actors for the sustainable development of the industry in Chile.
