1. The working group reports that 80% of companies have been visited under the digitalization program and already has commercial codes created for Oregon pine and native timber products.

Collaboration between Arauco and PymeMad Araucanía shows concrete results in its three strategic lines of work, according to Alejandro Parada Campos, Head of Linkage and Supply Chain at Arauco. The initiative aims to strengthen the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises in the regional timber-forestry sector.

In the Sustainable Development Network, implemented with support from Corfo and the Industry 4.0 Center, 11 SMEs from the Araucanía region are already participating, with 4 companies fully digitalized through production sensors. The program has visited nearly 80% of its partners, overcoming initial resistance.

The working group, comprised of the board of PymeMad Araucanía (Rocío Lagos, Daniel Krasniansky, Hernán Barrios, and Claudio Conejeros) and representatives from Arauco (Juan Pablo Portius, Alejandro Parada, and Arturo Jorquera), has successfully standardized technical datasheets for higher value-added Oregon pine and native species products. Arauco confirmed the creation of commercial codes and expects to finalize the first sales during 2025.

"This effort enables progress in shared solutions that strengthen competitiveness, sustainability, and the regional projection of the industry," stated Rocío Lagos, President of PymeMad Araucanía, highlighting the synergy between SMEs' knowledge and Arauco's technical capabilities.

"We see SMEs as strategic allies with whom we can generate shared value," added Parada, who emphasized the importance of production standardization and skill leveling as key factors to improve regional competitiveness.

The joint effort also includes conducting a sectoral diagnosis to identify gaps and present proposals to public entities such as GORE and Corfo, seeking relevant support instruments for the sector's development.
